Think about the little magical moments in your daily lives and take a moment to cherish them and the comfort they bring you.
Do you believe in magic?
Well, I do. Maybe I always have, not the disney movie kind with the fairies and genies. The kind of magic I believe in is rooted in your feelings. for example, when you finally reunite with a loved one after a long time and you hug them. That moment has a little bit of magic in it. Or when you're doing something you love and you get so caught up in it that you lose track of time, that's magical to me too. It doesn't even have to be that deep to be honest. It can be as trivial as jumping into a pool on a really hot day or taking the first bite of your favourite dessert, thats magical.
The most magical moment I've ever had was in December 2014. I cant believe that was 4 years ago, feels like just yesterday. I was in Cambodia on this trip and we had a camping excursion to these mountains where the monks lived. We hiked up there and spent two nights under the stars. It was on the second night, I just finished journaling my experiences of the day and everyone was getting ready to sleep in their tents. I desperately needed to pee so i snuck out of my little tent but i couldn't find my torch so i decided to go without it. As I was walking to a place far enough to pee I tripped on a rock and for some reason, maybe fate I looked up. And there it was, not a fairy or a genie, just the sky crowded with stars and they shone soo bright. I was awestruck. That moment, completely ordinary, everyone has looked up at the night sky before, yet, it felt like magic. I felt a warmth in my heart, my mind and soul all felt balanced and it was like nothing else existed just the sky. I stood there for a good 10 minutes just staring at the sky, I don't even remember if i ever used the bathroom. But the point is there are so many magical moments out there and this new year is only going to keep blessing us with more of them.
So keep believing and enjoy the magic that 2018 has in store for you.
Happy New Year!
